demo policy?

Though we find having "demo policy" pages on label websites a slight cliche ;), we felt compelled to write one since weve been gettin' email 'bout it. If you have any other questions though, feel free to email us.

FAQs!

Q: Do you guys accept demos?
A: Yes.
Note: If you are a visual artist, you can send us stuff as well! Isolate, Dyslexic, and Eyeslit are always on the lookout for intersting and synaesthetic artwork in mediums from paiting, photography and graphic design to video and film. We will be exploring more mixed media releases in the future.

Q: Do you guys accept Mp3s or RealAudio files?
A: Well, we arent against Mp3s, but we cannot guarantee you we will have the time, modem speed, or patience to download them. So feel free to refer us to sites, just note we cant always promise it will be listened to.

Q: What formats do you accept?
A: We prefer 1) CD-Rs 2) tapes 3) vinyl.
Note: If you think that your music is perfect for an Isolate release and and you think we should spend the time, money, and effort to release and promote your musical creations on CD or Vinyl; we feel that the least you can do for us is to spend 75 cents on a CD-R or cassette, and spend another 75 cents to send it to us in the mail. :) We find CD-Rs and tapes easier to keep track of than mp3s!

Q: Do you listen to all demos?
A: Yes, if they are on CD or tape. Unfortunately, we cannot promise you that we will listen to them straight through. And trust us, even YOU wouldn't want to listen to some of the stuff we get straight through! They put fast-forward buttons on CD players for a reason! :) Also, we cant promise you when we will listen to it... but eventually, ALL demos will get a ride on our CD/tape player.

Additional Suggestions:

-Please have your artist, project, and e-mail adress names clearly written or labeled on the CD-R or tape itself. This is a necessity! Its amazing how easy CD-Rs get seperated from their jewel case or sleeve! You want people to be able get back to you, no?

-You can also include track names and titles on a seperate piece of paper if you wish. Its up to you.

-Feel free to e-mail us to let us know you sent us stuff in the mail. Unfortunately, we cannot e-mail everyone back letting them know we got it.

-It can be helpful, but again not necessary, if you write a brief blurb about how long you've been making music, your influences, your directions, your instrumentation, etc. Also, when the demo was made.

-Please keep making music or art! Every person has a right to, if she or he so chooses. Even if we dont necessarily feel it would fit our label direction; we strongly believe that all music and artwork, like humans, have a right to exist! Just as long as it is not physically harmful to others or the environment. But, harmful to your sanity is probably okay considering our track record! :)

We look forward to hearing new sounds!
